The first four notes of each line above are played as quavers and the last note is played as a minim. This means that you will play this composition in 4 time, meaning four beats in a bar.

You will now need to learn the left hand melody of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is written in C major; so you will play the major chords associated with this key signature. The left hand melody is played using chords.

For each line of the notes written out above, you will need to play the chord of the first note which occurs in the line. That is, play the C major chord for the first line and sustain it for that line, then play F major chord, then the G major chord, then another G major chord, then the C major chord and finally the F major chord followed by the C major chord to end on the last note of the song which is a C.

Now that you know the right hand and the left hand melody for this composition, you will need to practice them separately. Once you are fluent in both the left hand and the right hand melody, you can then put them together and play the song together.

If you find you are making mistakes, trying singing the melody in your head while playing the composition. Do not play too fast or too slow. With practice, you will soon be able to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the piano from memory.
